Woodbridge XC Classic - An Invitation
Dear Coaches,
 Â
We invite your team to return again this year and attend the 30th Annual Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, co-hosted by the Newport-Irvine Rotary Club and sponsored by Puma.
 Â
For those of you that participated in last year's meet, we hope that our meet met your expectations and you will make plans to participate again this year. We are working to stage a meet similar to those of the past.
  Â
The 30th Annual Woodbridge Cross Country Classic will take place on September 18, 2010.
 Â
Due to the addition of two new buildings to the Woodbridge campus, this year's venue will be switched to Estancia High School.Â
 Â
Estancia High School, in Costa Mesa and the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, is the same place where the CIF-SS Division 3 track and field prelims have been staged.
 Â
The course will resemble pretty much the Woodbridge course of past invitationals. It will be flat, fast, 95% on grass (a little thicker grass than what we had in the park and the Woodbridge campus in the past), very visible (one can see practically the entire race with very little movement) and it will finish inside the beautiful stadium at Estancia. The course map will be posted here on our website in the near future.
 Â
The boys’ sweepstakes race will be named to honor Doug Speck (a giant in our sport that left us this spring). The girls’ sweepstakes race will be named to honor Don Murphy (a tireless volunteer in past invitationals that was tragically taken from us this past year).
 Â
This year's meet location has necessitated changes to the morning races. Check the Meet Schedule for new start times.
 Â
Please mark your calendars with the date and let us know as soon as possible, if you plan to attend. We cap the full team entries at 180 and the spots fill up fast. Please check back regularly to this website for more information.
    Â
Additionally, let me encourage each of you to look at some of the technology tools that we have used to make each year’s meet more productive and beneficial to you: our NOBOL Race Manager, our automated meet registration process, and our athletics website that connects our athletes and their accomplishments to the community. We have had a lot of positive feedback from our website users, particularly our parents, and we would recommend that you strongly consider one or more of these tools for your team also. Please take the time to read the article About this Website.
 Â
For more information on how you can make similar tools available for your team, please contact TeamTrax at 949-632-2825 or by e-mail.
 Â
Thank you for your school’s participation in the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic! See you in September!
